Academic Calendar Summary

Fall, spring, and summer semesters make up the academic calendar. The summer semester sessions last anywhere from eight to ten weeks, while the fall and spring semesters last fifteen weeks each. Final exams are scheduled for the final week of each semester. Every semester is separated into two parts: the first term, which includes midterm tests at the end, and the last term, which brings the semester to a close with final term exams. Important dates are indicated, however the Long Beach University of California's academic calendar deviates from this general timetable. Additionally, the calendar below lists the holidays and vacations that the university observes. Semester breaks are the week following the midterm examinations of each semester and conclude the semester midterm. The refund/withdrawal schedule is applicable to all courses but on before the stated deadline. Refunds/withdrawals for courses also apply according to their respective semester’s deadlines.
